Queensland is on the cusp of making human rights history!

Last night, the Queensland Parliamentary Committee gave the thumbs up to the proposed Human Rights Act!

Queensland is now set to become the second Australian state to create a specific law protecting human rights, but a final vote in Parliament is required to make Queensland’s Human Rights Act a reality.

Can you send a message of support to the Premier and Leader of the Opposition to help get it over the line?

This will be a huge victory for human rights in Australia. Even if you don’t live in Queensland, this is a prime opportunity to show that people right around Australia support our human rights being protected in our laws.

It will also add momentum to the push for an Australian Charter of Human Rights by demonstrating what can be achieved when communities come together to demand better from their government.

Your Message of Support ...

Dear Premier Palasczcuk and Ms Frecklington,

We congratulate the Queensland Government for introducing the Human Rights Bill and urge all MPs to support its passage through parliament without delay.

Signed ...
